At Itasca, we specialize in college transfer. You can complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree in almost any field. If you are undecided on a major, we encourage you to complete the Associate in Arts degree. This is a liberal arts degree which will satisfy the general education requirements at all Minnesota state universities, the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts, the University of North Dakota, North Dakota State University and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.

 

Transfer programs include:

Class Act: Education majors get classroom teaching experience as a college freshman.
Engineering: Students gain experience working on projects with area industries.
Psychology: Students collaborate with community groups on human service projects.
Business: Students stay on the ICC campus to complete the last two years of a four-year degree or transfer to a college or university.
American Indian Studies: Students increase their knowledge of American Indian culture, language and history.
Geography/Geographic Information Systems: Students learn to manage and utilize geographic information as a planning and decision making tool.
Early Childhood Education: Students are involved in professional experience through an onsite teaching practicum.

Mass Communications: Students get classroom and lab experience in both print and electronic media with an emphasis on writing skills.
Pulp and Paper Science: Students prepare to be part of a technologically advanced workforce within the paper industry through onsite experience at Blandin Paper Company.

Special Services

Free tutoring, Academic Resource Center, a special needs office and computer labs are available for student use.

Estimated Cost

Itasca has reciprocity with Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Manitoba. Itasca offers a higher percentage of gift aid compared to other Minnesota colleges. Online classes will cost more per credit.


To qualify for financial aid, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) . ICC scholarship application forms are available on the college website in mid-January and due back at the end of February.

 

Housing

Itasca has on-campus student housing in Wenger and Itasca Halls. Semester costs for the 2011/2012 school year range from $1,500 to $1,900, depending upon room type. Students have a choice between two meal plans $600 or $700 a semester. There is privately owned student apartment housing adjacent to campus; rent is $305 for a private bedroom and $285 for a shared bedroom.
