Support Within Reach is a collaborative effort between Itasca Community College (ICC) and Itasca Alliance Against Sexual Assault (IAASA). Our mission is to enhance the campus community's awareness, understanding, safety, and accountability regarding sexual violence, sexual harassment, and stalking.
Sexual violence encompasses any unwanted sexual contact and includes rape, sexual abuse, incest, molestation, date rape, drug facilitated/induced sexual assault, intimate partner rape, same gender assault, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, stalking, exposing, obscene phone calls, internet related crimes, and child pornography.
Support Within Reach - Program Goals:
1. Provide on-site services including 24 hour crisis-line, one-to-one support, medical legal advocacy, & referral.
2.Provide awareness and education related to issues surrounding sexual violence to students, faculty, and staff; including special campus groups such as the Psychology Club, O-Gitch-I-Dah Club, GSA, and/or men and women's athletics.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Support within Reach program contact IAASA. Those interested in volunteer opportunities must successfully complete a 40 hour sexual assault advocate training provided by IAASA, as well as complete a thorough background check.
